HEB Chamber of Commerce Leads Group Four Power Networking collects over 600 food items for the Community Enrichment Center!

Hurst, Euless, Bedford, Texas: For Immediate Release, December 22, 2006

HEB Chamber of Commerce Leads Group Four, Power Networking, collected over 600 food items for the Community Enrichment Center! The Chamber has three leads groups that meet weekly. Each of the Leads Groups competed against each other for one month. The CEC and its food pantry are still in the recovery process following the increased need due to Hurricane Rita and Katrina so this friendly competition and large food donation was much needed and appreciated.

The Community Enrichment Center provides groceries to about 900 low-income households in northeast Tarrant County every month. 42% of the people who benefit from the pantry are children and another 20% are seniors. CEC’s Food Pantry distributes about 1,000,000 pounds of food a year.
