Hurst, Euless, Bedford, Texas: For Immediate Release, June 8, 2007

Career Connections combines the efforts of Hurst Euless Bedford Independent School District schools and the HEB Chamber of Commerce business community to motivate students between the ninth and tenth grades. Real work experience helps demonstrate how skills learned in school are used in a workplace, and how success in school can lead to success beyond the classroom.

#? area businesses have signed up to participate in the four-day program. Students are matched with businesses through the applications area of interest questions. Each business will host up to three student and discuss the education students need to hold jobs within their company.

Monday the students will be at the HEB ISD Tech Center where they will be given instruction on how to interview, how to dress for work and how to hold a job. Tuesday and Wednesday students will be bussed to businesses from 9 am to 11 am. Thursday students will debrief at the Tech Center and attend the Chambers membership luncheon where the program will conclude.
