Leadership HEB Alumni collects school supplies as new class soon to begin

Hurst, Euless, Bedford, Texas: For Immediate Release, August 9, 2007

The HEB Leadership Alumni Association is currently collecting school supplies for the 2007-2008 school year. This project is continuing what has become an annual tradition of collecting school supplies for the Northeast Emergency Distribution Center. NEED distributes school supplies to children in the HEB ISD who are unable to afford to purchase them. They also keep supplies on hand throughout the year for the students as they are needed.

Leadership HEB has been developing community leaders for over twenty years to assure quality volunteers for the future. The mission of Leadership HEB is to motivate emerging leaders, develop potential for civic responsibilities and increase their knowledge of the community.

Leadership Alumni Jo and John Lambert shared their thoughts on Leadership HEB: “We were amazed to learn so much about this great community of ours!! The information has been invaluable to us and our business over the years. The Leadership Class is a must for anyone to accelerate themselves personally and in their career. The relationships we developed have made our lives fulfilled. We plan to enroll our business managers in the Leadership Class to further their skills & knowledge. Thank You Chamber for this excellent program.”

The 2008 Leadership HEB class is forming now and will begin in September with an all day challenge course activity on September 28. Call the Chamber at 817-283-1521 for an application. Scholarships are available and are made possible by the dues paid by the Leadership HEB Alumni Association. Applications are due by August 24, 2007.
