U.S. Congressman Kenny Marchant to speak at the HEB Chamber August 2007 Membership Luncheon

Hurst, Euless, Bedford, Texas: For Immediate Release, August 14, 2007

Congressman Kenny Marchant will be the keynote speaker at the August 20th HEB Chamber of Commerce monthly membership luncheon. Congressman Marchant began his career in public service in 1980 when he was elected to the Carrollton City Council. He was elected mayor in May of 1984 and held that position until he was elected to the Texas Legislature. Marchant served nine terms as a State Representative under Texas’ three modern Republican governors: Bill Clements, George W. Bush, and Rick Perry.

Representing the 24th District of Texas, which includes Hurst, Euless and Bedford, Marchant is a local businessman and investor. His community and legislative leadership in the Texas House earned him numerous distinctions including, “Top Ten Legislator” by Texas Monthly magazine and Harte Hankes Communications, "Citizen of the Year" by the Metrocrest Chamber of Commerce, and "Legislator of the Year" by the Texas Municipal League.

The Chamber’s membership luncheon sponsor for August is AT&T. Monthly membership luncheons are held at First United Methodist Church of Hurst, 521 W. Pipeline Road, Hurst. Networking begins at 11:00 a.m. Buffet opens at 11:30 a.m. $15/members w/R.S.V.P. by August 16, $18/after August 16 and $30 for non-members.
