State Senator Jane Nelson to speak at the HEB Chamber February Membership Luncheon

Hurst, Euless, Bedford, Texas: For Immediate Release, February 11, 2008

Senator Jane Nelson will be the keynote speaker at the February 14th Hurst Euless Bedford Chamber of Commerce monthly membership luncheon. Senator Nelson is representing Senate District 12, which includes the growing suburban communities of Tarrant and Denton counties and part of the City of Fort Worth.

Senator Nelson is the second highest ranking Republican in the Texas Senate and serves as chairman of the Health & Human Services Committee. In the 2007 session, she championed legislation reforming Medicaid, expanding cancer research, returning PE to our schools, ensuring the safety of foster children, reducing hospital infections, safeguarding children from Internet predators, curbing domestic violence, insisting on truth-in-tolling and protecting the elderly.

As the owner of an aviation manufacturing firm, Senator Nelson is keenly aware of the challenges facing Texas businesses. She is a multiple winner of the Fighter for Free Enterprise Award from the Texas Association of Business for her efforts to reduce the size of government, contain health care costs and streamline Texas' tourism and economic development functions.

The Chamber’s membership luncheon sponsor for February is Reliant Energy. Monthly membership luncheons are held at First United Methodist Church of Hurst, 521 W. Pipeline Road, Hurst. Networking begins at 11:00 a.m. The buffet lunch opens at 11:30 a.m. $15/members w/R.S.V.P. by February 11th, $18/after February 11th or if billed and $30 for non-members.
