Business Advocacy

Austin Capital BuildingThe Hurst Euless Bedford Chamber of Commerce has had an active Governmental Affairs Committee for many years.  This Committee researches issues that will affect businesses and the community.  Position statements on issues such as transportation, economic development and education are formed after careful consideration and input from our members.

During the last Texas legislative session two organized trips were taken to Austin to let the voice of business be heard in Austin.  Additionally, Chamber Board and Governmental Affairs Committee members responded to specific legislation by contacting individual legislators by phone and email as the session progressed.

Do you have a particular issue that affects your business that may come up in the next Texas legislative session?  Do you belong to an industry association that has an issue? Contact Mary Frazior and the HEB Chamber’s Governmental Affairs Committee will research it.  Please include your contact information so we can follow up with you.  Mary’s e-mail address is maryfrazior@heb.org and the phone number is 817/283-1521.
