Hurst

Hurst, TexasIt’s a great time to be in Hurst!

The City continues to transform and revitalize key corridors, new businesses are flocking in and the new conference center brings in thousands of visitors each month. Yes, big things are happening in Hurst. In 2009 the City of Hurst opened state-of-the-art Hurst Fire Station No. 2 and the first ever Hurst Senior Citizens Activities Center, both of which anchor Heritage Village. And Hurst’s largest project to date, the 50,000 square feet Hurst Conference Center, opened in 2010 at Hurst Town Center.

Tourism continues to be another viable resource for the city. In 2003 the Hyatt Place Inn and Suites (formerly the AmeriSuites Hotel), opened in Town Center and has partnered with the neighboring Hampton Inn to make Hurst the ideal place to stay when visiting Dallas or Fort Worth. A Holiday Inn Express & Suites opened in 2008, making more than 350 rooms available in Hurst Town Center. The close proximity to North East Mall and regional retail destinations make it an especially convenient place to stay for visitors, and the Town Center addition of the Hurst Conference Center will only further enhance the City’s appeal.

Another reason it’s a great time to be in Hurst? Hurst consistently offers superior public services to its residents. Just like the marquees declare, Hurst truly is a quality of life city. The City recently partnered with other area cities to develop a hike and bike trail along the Cottonbelt Railroad, slated to open this year. Hurst’s public safety services are among the best in DFW, including a nationally accredited Hurst Police Department.

Residents are also able to enjoy two state-of-the-art aquatic centers located in beautifully maintained public parks. Pavilions, shade canopies and locker rentals are also available. And the crown jewel of the community services department, the Hurst Public Library, was recently reopened after extensive remodeling and reconstruction, making it one of the best libraries in the region with state of the art technology and services.
